This was a rather uneventful week for me and I didn't get much done. It was difficult for us to show the tedious steps in a clear and straightforward manner so we thought of methods along the lines of videos tutorials instead of pop-ups that normally appear when we add the models in. This was a problem for us as Creo Illustrate, the main software we use to animate the steps, was unable to animate the pictures we were using. We sought out a solution by using adobe Illustrator and After Effects to create the video tutorial and were presented with another obstacle. We had only one account to work with. Hopefully next week will be more entertaining.

With Presentation fast approaching, I thought I'd throw a couple of things I did the past week. I honestly feel as though I've been clicking my days away. This week, I wanted to document the process of creating a couple of 3D models in a software, sharing the challenges and progress I've faced.
The last time I used AutoCAD Inventor was during my internship, 6 months ago. Since then, I've lost touch with my Inventor skills. That being said, I'm definitely a CAD girl, whereas my other team members are better at Vuforia Studios, as I got the hang of it in a jiffy.
The tedious part of this process was measuring the dimensions of the parts needed. We were unable to bring the workpieces up, hence, I had to continuously run up and down from the workshop back to the class if I missed out any measurements. Regardless, I managed to get all the
required dimensions.
Not to mention, thanks to Mr. Poh, he provided me with some of the completed workpieces in a CAD file. With his great help, it helped lessen my workload. Nevertheless, there were a couple of parts I had to create to make the workpiece complete.
For the most part, I have yet to complete many models such as the drill tips and gauges, but I'm determined to get it completed so the team can progress faster. I have created a playlist filled with inventor tutorials I used when I needed to recap or if you're interested in trying out a new
software: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWLXZdBT3tCW44ZPYmyQ14Z0_5bzNdH3K
All the best & See you soon!

One month is about to past and I feel like we are gradually grasping the concept of Augmented Reality. We have got out of the "omg this is so difficult, I am so uncomfortable with this" stage, and of course we did have our light-bulb moments exploring different kinds of software and the machine - Vuforia Studio, Inventor, Creo Illustrate, CNC Milling Machine. After our trip to the CNC Milling Machine workshop, I went back home to re-watch the videos that I took when Mr. Poh [Our TSO], was showing us the steps to cut the workpiece. There were absolutely too many steps to comprehend... AND THIS IS JUST THE BASE OF THE WORKPIECE - HALF OF THE BASE. So, I made a consultation with Mr. Poh, to clarify my doubts. Hence, I decided to use a sketchbook, to help my team members & I to better visualize the sequence of steps.

Other than just focusing on the CNC Milling Machine, we were also experimenting with audio in Vuforia Studio. First, we tried to put the audio into Vuforia Studio, then we had to manually PLAY or PAUSE the audio. After that we tried it with the Thingmark and a 3D model - once it detects the Thingsmark/3D Model, the audio will start playing. One discovery that we found is that there is a bug in android devices whereby, we were unable to press the audio panel to play or pause the audio.

With all the experiments and work we had done, we have to present it to our supervisor. For our very first presentation, I am honestly feeling a little nervous. So our presentation would be what we have done for the past 3 weeks - Research, Vuforia Studio, Creo Illustrate, Inventor, AutoCAD, CNC Milling Machine. I hope our supervisor would not be disappointed, and nonetheless, giving us critical feedback on what we can improve on!
With that, I will see you next week. ;-D
