Presentation might be done and dusted, but that doesn't stop the hustling and bustling! That's something I like about presentations, my team and I are able to receive feedback and thoughts from third party on our slides and the direction the team is heading on this project. This blog is going to be all about our presentation, things to be improved on and our future plans.
Despite putting in so much effort into our first set of presentation slides, there are some things that can be better improved. This minor yet impactful advice could make a difference in your presentation and I would like to share some tips for you and for my team for future references:
1. Fonts
Make your fonts thicker and easy to view from far. This makes it easier for audiences at the back to view and get the full presentation experience.
Use only three sizes of fonts. The three sizes are used mainly for title, subtitle and text.
2. Color Scheme
Keep your slides consistent. Use the same background color scheme or use light & pastel colors to avoid strain to the eyes.
Use contrasting colors. For example, use a black font on white background. To put it simply, use darker color on light background or vice versa.
3. Content
Opt for lesser words, more pictures. Elaborate more during your presentation. On top of that, the content you're presenting has to tally with your slides.
Make sure you relate back to what you're doing. For example, include team progress and showcase what you've done.
Pro Tip: Rehearse your content for presentation in front of your friends and asks them for their opinions. Present your slides and view from far, be your own critic. Judge your own quality of work and make changes to it before your actual presentation.
I hope these tips could help you as much as it did for my team. As of now, we'll be busy tweaking the slides for our next presentation and continue working on producing augmented reality.
All the best for your next presentation and see you soon!
