Submission Week is always such a whirlwind. I feel like this period of time was one of my busiest weeks. Each time I stay longer in school, I try to get as much work completed as possible. This time around I managed my time better because I hate doing last minute work. This time, I dive in a pile of work with the intentions of ensuring every detail is correctly done, figure and table captions are properly numbered, and content is grammatically correct. Haha, that didn't quite happen and don't get me wrong, I checked thoroughly, it was a crazy rushed week. I loved how the final report looked, filled with detailed and fully elaborated content. It was a very satisfying feeling!
We all have those crazy submission days! So below are a few of my essential for surviving the hustle and bustle:
Seek Your Supervisor's Advice. Everyone has a different writing and presentation style. Seeking your supervisor's advice will help you greatly. Remember, they're the one's grading your report. So do your best to meet their standard and requirements.
Shoot & Film. Remember to take pictures and videos to document your progress. You'll need it eventually. Don't leave pictures until last minute. You may not get the shot you want and you can never go back to the past. So get all the shots you can get. You'll never know when you'll need it.
Check, Double Check & Triple Check. Get a third party to check the quality of your work. Here's a tip, You'll be biased to your own work and you might miss out some details that you never noticed in the beginning. Getting a third party advice will help you lots.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. No matter how busy I am, I always make time for a meal or healthy snack. Get some nutrients in your system first or it'll be difficult for you to focus and create quality content.
You'll notice i posted our group's mishaps with our submitted report. It was wrongly numbered & the font was crazy! Don't go through the same troubles I did. Remember to check your work even if it's a 109 pages long! All the best and be mentally prepared for the Submission Disaster.
All the best & See you!
