Hello! We managed to finish the "Getting Started" of our AR project - BUT there is not much AR features for the first few steps because the user would still need to start up the machine by pressing different kinds of buttons or turning some kind of knob. For the animations we used Adobe After Effects, as we were unable to animate 2D images in Creo Illustrate which I mention last week! And with such fancy Control Panel that Khai made, we also have to make our text box & buttons look as nice and user friendly as possible. First we started of with green 3D-ish design, it didn't have that WOW-factor we were was looking for, and it looked kinda out of place? Hence, we opt for a MINIMALISTIC design, black background with white text - it would be visible where ever I point the camera to.
Despite all of the animations of the control panel and design of the textboxes, I went to do a simple splash screen with out team name & logo on it - DV Deviant. Probably the boys and I love the Detroit: Become Human game tooooooo much we got inspired by it! We also got the font idea from there too!! hehe #detriotbecomehuman
With all these png & gif files, it took up alot of space on our Vuforia Studio, hence when we tried to demonstrate it on the tablet, it was super laggy. We will try to compress the image file without disrupting the quality, and we will update you on our results!
We also had a smol discussion with Mr David on friday. So, in summary, we wanted to try out the following to further enhance the user's experience.
- Add Menu bar & Sub Operations
So basically, what it means is that the user would have the freedom of choice to select which operations they wanna start with. Let's just say this user is done with setting up the tools, and he/she decides to go home. The following day, the user would still be able to start with where he/she left off.
-Add Loading bar/indicator
To let the user know how much more steps are there in the operations.
