If you happen to see me around at this period of time, it would seem as though I got my life together. But in reality, I'm a complete disaster. I could fake my preparedness and you think I'm ready for our Mid-Review Presentation but let's be honest – I'm TOTALLY not! I pretty much gave up memorizing my script a while ago (except the slides with diagrams, which is easier to memorize and present) as it's full of details and content to remember. Since this presentation consists of 50% of our final grade, I had to do the best I could.
Between the rest of our MDP peer's presentation and ours, there was a couple of days difference which is utterly nerve-wracking as we've had good presentation and bad ones. Stories shared from the previous groups sounded pressurizing and full of expectations. I get nervous easily, it's crazy.
During the presentation, I was practically shaking because I was SO nervous, but after I finished my set of slides, I was bombarded with questions about the experiments we conducted. The questions were so unexpected as we were in the midst of our presentation when we were asked to clarify the experiment section. Nonetheless, I managed to maintain my cool and answered the best I could as I predicted that such questions were going to be asked. I knew my content well enough that it was easy to clarify and proceed. Most of the questions asked were in relation to our slides and it only needed further clarification and understanding.
I'm also having a major moment after the presentation ended. Mr. David mentioned that our presentation was impressive. It was his first time seeing us in full preparedness (or at least the rest of the team members were). Our presentation to the panelist was also the first and so was his. To receive such feedback helped boost the team's morale to do even better and to constantly create an impressive content and quality of work.
There was also some constructive criticism received. One of the issues brought up was, will the students be notified when they made a mistake when operating the CNC Milling Machine? If time permits, the team will do our best to better improve and create a better version of DEVIANT.
Now that this stressful week is over, I can finally take the rest of the day off before I start planning for Engineering Show. Oh, if you read my blog a couple of weeks ago, you'd probably notice the plain boring slides I posted. Here's our final set of slides that we used to present! Hope this video inspires you to create a cool set of slides too!
