Heyyo everyone!!!

Welcome back to this week’s blog post. Hope everyone is coping well with studies and all!! If you’re not coping well like myself, don’t be afraid to take a break and step away from what you’re working on currently. Take the time to recollect your mind & plan out so that when you come back to it, you’ll have a clearer focus on the things that are needed to be done.

Updates for the week:

Based on last week’s feedback session with our two supervisors, Mr Poh and Mr David, regarding our DEVIANT application, my group and I have decided to scrap the current version of the application and start again from the beginning. If you’re confused as to why we are scraping our current version of the application, don’t worry because I’ll be explaining it further below.

So, now back to the process of starting from “scratch” for our DEVIANT application. After having use Vuforia Studio for almost 2 months, I found that redoing most of the Vuforia Studio Experience from scratch was easier compared to removing the unwanted portions from the current Experience itself. The reason why I felt so was because:

Firstly, this is partly due to the poor user experience design of Vuforia Studio where the software only allow users to remove items/files one at a time which is time-consuming instead of allowing them to select multiple files and delete it all at one.

Second, the way we named the files used inside the current version of DEVIANT was also partly why we decided to start all over again. Since most of the programming codes used inside DEVIANT requires the program to call out the file by their names, meant that inconsistent naming of the files would require additional work to tweak the program codes just so that the program is able to call out a specific file.
